GasFindIR is being used by Environmental Enforcement to ensure that existing air quality or internal systems for removing chemicals are functioning properly. It can detect dozens of volatile organic compounds that might otherwise go unnoticed. At a tire plant, a plastics raw materials facility and a natural gas company, infrared thermography matches a particular gas and displays it on the camera's screen and video recording display the findings as a plume of vapor or smoke.

Scanning Large Areas

State environmental agencies used GasFindIR cameras mounted on helicopters to monitor large areas for chemical emissions after the 2005 hurricanes that battered the US Gulf Coast. And federal environmental officials in other states are exploring how infrared technology can improve the speed, accuracy and reporting standards for various industries – from gas stations to drycleaners.
