เครื่องวัดอุณหภูมิร่างกายใช้สำหรับ คัดกรองผู้สงสัยที่เป็นโรคอีโบล่า (Ebola) กล้องถ่ายภาพรังสีความร้อน(อินฟราเรด)ซึ่งเป็นกล้อง สำหรับตรวจวัดอุณหภูมิร่างกายแบบไม่สัมผัส โดยนำมาใช้ตรวจวัดผู้ที่สงสัยที่จะเป็น โรคอีโบล่า (Ebola) เพื่อคัดแยกผู้ป่วยที่มีอุณหภูมิสูงออกจาก ผู้ป่วยทั่วไปและบุคคลปกติ โดยไม่ต้องสัมผัสผู้ป่วยซึ่งในปัจจุบันใช้วิธีตรวจวัดอุณหภูมิ จากปรอทวัดไข้หรือใช้ เครื่องวัดอุณหภูมิที่เสียบเข้าทางหูทำให้ต้องสัมผัสผู้ป่วยโดยตรง เสี่ยงต่อการแพร่กระจายของเชื้อโรค ซึ่งเทคโนโลยีดังกล่าว สามารถคัดกรองผู้ป่วย ได้หลายคนพร้อมกันและให้บริการตรวจวัดได้อย่างรวดเร็วทำให้แยกผู้ป่วยที่มี่อาการไข้ สูงหรือผู้ป่วยที่อาจมีเชื้อโรคติดต่อร้ายแรง เช่น อีโบล่า (Ebola)ได้เพื่อแยกผู้ป่วยไปรับการรักษาในห้องตรวจแยกโรคที่ได้มาตรฐานต่อไป
